Spotlight on Seven Loaves Catering and Events

Blinged Up’s newest customer is Seven Loaves Catering and Events, a local catering company that wanted blinged up logo shirts to wear to their catering functions.  We would like to introduce this fabulous company to you, in case you aren’t already familiar with them.

Seven Loaves Catering and Events is a full service catering company proudly serving all of D/FW and surrounding areas. Whether you’re having an intimate bridal shower, a wedding reception, or a corporate function, their talented staff is eager to serve you.

Seven Loaves menus are Chef-inspired and custom designed to meet the likes and dislikes of their client. Whether you’re looking for passed hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, a chef-run action-station, or a plated/sit down dinner; they can do it all. They also provide a full range of services including: delivery and setup, bartenders, service staff, rentals, music/entertainment, and more.

Owners Phillip and Leslie Smithwick started catering in 2001 as a part time business under the name Hospitality For Hire. While catering part time, Phillip continued to work full time gaining a wide range of experience as Executive Chef in a Country Club, Executive Chef for a Catering Company, Executive Chef of a startup restaurant concept, and a Private Chef and House Manager in the Highland Park area of Dallas. Over the years, the Smithwick’s commitment to excellent food and exceptional service has attracted a loyal client base and ongoing referrals. So much so, that in January of 2011, Phillip left his job as a Private Chef to run the catering business full time. Leslie continues her passion as an educator in the public school system and helps with the business on weekends.

The name was changed to Seven Loaves Catering and Events in January of 2010 to more accurately describe their desire to “feed the multitudes.”

If you are looking for someone to do a fabulous job catering a small or large event in the D/FW area, give Seven Loaves Catering and Events a call!

Blinged Up’s First Fashion Show

Here are the beautiful blinged up models who showed off some bride and bachelorette tees at the show last Saturday.  They did a spectacular job.  Thanks girls!  (And guy.)

Highland Village Bridal & Fashion Show

Blinged Up is going to participate in the Highland Village Bridal & Fashion Show on February 19.

I’ve had a booth in one other show.  Last Fall, I made my first attempt at the craft fair business at the Marcus Marquettes Arts & Crafts Show.  It was  fun AND successful, so I’m looking forward to working another one.

I’m working on rhinestone shirts and new designs for brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, flower girls, newlyweds,  honeymooners, the bachlorette party, etc.   Please come by and see me if you get to the show.

If you know anyone planning a wedding, please tell them about the Highland Village Bridal and Fashion Show.  It’s going to be fabulous!!

Cooler days, football games – fall is here!

It is finally feeling like fall has arrived.

To make it even better, our high school has a brand new stadium and it is beautiful!  It’s so much fun to go to the home games now.  We’ve always had to go to another high school for our home games – this is much, much better.  Last weekend, the 5th graders got to run through the helmet and bring the Marcus football players out onto the field.   Exciting!

And, of course, Blinged Up is making Marcus hoodies for the cooler days ahead.  Go Marauders!

Reality TV star calls on Blinged Up!

I got an email from a fun and fabulous lady who had starred in a recent episode of Wife Swap.  If you watch the show, she was on the episode that aired July 23rd.  Her name is Angie Funderburgh, and she was the “Cool School Instructor” mom of the Funderburgh family.  She was sent from her home in the suburbs of Oklahoma City to a goat farm in New York.  Now that’s bound to make good TV!   And it did — it was a great episode.

She wanted some blinged up t-shirts commemorating her appearance on the show.   She ordered a t-shirt that said Wife Swap Diva, and one for her daughter that said Wife Swap Lil Diva.

She ordered several others blinging catch phrases from the episode.

I completely enjoyed working on these shirts and loved that she sent me some pictures of her and her daughter enjoying wearing them.

Thanks, Angie!

This one was just for fun

Okay, this job was purely for fun –  these won’t be for sale.  But I took my kids and one of their friends to the American Idol concert recently and made shirts for each of them to wear for their favorite Idols.  We do this every year – the only difference is that this year I didn’t have to buy the shirts at $35 a pop or ask my sister and BIL to make them. (But thank you for all these years of shirts!)

These Idols weren’t necessarily MY favorites, but I made whichever ones that the girls wanted.

(Okay, this one ^ actually WAS my favorite.)

Then the girl’s favorite part of the shirts:

Fun night.
